Floral Patterned Broken China Heart Necklace | Handmade & Electroformed in Copper

The most precious little heart necklace you've ever seen! My lapidary friend cut this broken floral china into a heart shape for me, and then I used my magic to electroform it in copper. This gave it a unique, sturdy, textured setting, turning it into wearable art. 

🍄 Size of your Valentine's heart pendant: Approx. 1.19" tall and .94" at widest parts.
The color of this heart is an off-white, which gives it even more of an antiqued look. I left the back of the china showing; it may have some slightly darkened areas from my creative processes. The flower is a dark and dusty pink color, with very soft light blue leaves. I cannot confirm the material the dish was made of, but I would guess porcelain. 

🍄 Please choose your desired length of chain. I recommend measuring before ordering to ensure the right length for you. {For example: 14" is quite short for most people, but the perfect choker length for others}
All my chains are nickel-free. I used slightly-antiqued copper-plated rolo chain for this pendant, at 18" for photos. If you need steel, silver-plated, darker antiqued copper, or gunmetal-tone chain instead, please leave it in the "order notes" at checkout, or message me through my contact form.

🍄 HOW IT'S MADE: there are many layers of prep I do before electroforming a handmade piece. Once ready, it sits in my electro-tank for 14–40 hours, depending on its size and copper needs. The copper collects molecule by molecule, creating strength and unique texture.

I rapidly oxidized the metal slightly, then coated it with a very thin layer of jewelry lacquer to help preserve the patina. This coating naturally wears off over time.
Copper never rusts—when it encounters moisture, it protects itself by creating a living patina. The oxidized layer is surface only; the metal can always be polished if you prefer it brighter.

I include a small polishing cloth sample with every order + simple care instructions—like taking off your jewelry before showering or swimming. Let the copper do its thing as it adapts with you on life’s adventures, creating a sacred bond between the two of you.
A soft green tint from copper is harmless and washes off with soap and water—it’s simply copper meeting moisture. It usually only happens with rings.
