Starry Night-Flower Obsidian Crystal Ornament | Electroformed Copper Christmas Décor

Starry Night Obsidian, Flower Obsidian—also known as fireworks or firecracker obsidian, is a rare Mexican volcanic glass marked by soft, chrysanthemum-like bursts of pink, tan, and ivory, blooming through deep black obsidian. Isn't it stunning?

Protective and grounding at its core, this stone carries a quieter kind of magic, one tied to creative awakening, emotional clarity, and gentle transformation. Because of its softer nature, Flower Obsidian is challenging to cut and work with, making each finished piece extremely treasured.

I lovingly handmade this polished Fireworks Obsidian ornament by giving it a uniquely textured electroformed copper setting, finished with a black and shimmery gold trimmed ribbon. The back is gorgeous too, so I left most of the stone showing in the back.

🍄 Total length of your Obsidian ornament is approx. 3.63" including full length of ribbon. Length of just the stone in copper is approx. 1.5" Widest part of setting is approx. .69"--this ornament is not very heavy.

🍄 HOW IT'S MADE: there are many layers of prep I do before electroforming a handmade piece. Once ready, it sits in my electro-tank for 14–40 hours, depending on its size and copper needs. The copper collects molecule by molecule, creating strength and unique texture.

I rapidly oxidized the metal slightly, then coated it with a very thin layer of jewelry lacquer to help preserve the patina. This coating naturally wears off over time.
Copper never rusts—when it encounters moisture, it protects itself by creating a living patina. The oxidized layer is surface only; the metal can always be polished if you prefer it brighter.

I include a small polishing cloth sample with every order + simple care instructions—like keeping the piece dry, and storing it in a small plastic baggy, with padding around it before putting it away for next year. Copper may change color slightly with time, which adds to its unique charm. you can always use polishing cloth if you want to brighten the metal and make it lighter.
